Job Description

Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities.

The UT Tyler School of Medicine - Department of Surgery is currently recruiting for a faculty member who practices colorectal surgery. The applicant must be Board-Certified or eligible in General Surgery, have completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship by the time of the appointment, and be eligible for a Texas Medical License.

Requirements:

  • All aspects of providing Colorectal Surgical procedures at a high-functioning Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Academic affiliation with UT Tyler School of Medicine, including Medical Education, including Residents and Surgical Fellows
  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Applicant must be Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery and must have completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship by the time of the appointment and be eligible for a Texas Medical License
  • Successful candidates will be committed to patient care, resident, fellow and medical student education and scholarly activity that advance clinical medicine
  • Educational responsibilities include the clinical training of general surgery residents and colorectal surgery fellows
  • Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery is required
