Trauma Surgeon | UT Tyler School of Medicine | Level I Trauma Center in Tyler- 90 mi from Dallas

UT Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a Full Time Trauma Physician to join the fast growing family of UT Health East Texas hospitals and clinics.

About the Position:

• Part of a 2 person Trauma Surgery Team
• Lvl 1 Trauma Center
• EMR: EPIC
• Call 1:6

Responsibilities include:

• All aspects of a high-functioning Level 1 Trauma Center, including Surgical Critical Care
• Medical Education, including Residents

Requirements include:

• MD or DO: Board-certified or board-eligible candidates required
• General Surgery Residency completion required from an accredited ACGME program
• Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma completion required from an accredited program featuring certification in Critical Care
• Fellowship in Acute Care Surgery preferred
• The trauma / critical care service will cover day and night shifts 365 days a year for these high-volume and high-acuity hospitals. The typical expectation is 16 shifts per month.
• Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery is required

Academic affiliation with UT Tyler School of Medicine, including general surgery residency program with resident coverage.
