Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG) seeks to hire a BE/BC medical oncologist to be part of our growing team in Antioch, CA.
Sutter is expanding services to cancer patients in the East Bay Market, one of six market areas for Sutter Health. SEBMG currently employs five medical oncologists in our Berkeley-based cancer center and, to better serve our community, we plan to add medical oncology care and infusion services to a new location in Antioch, California in the summer of 2024. This site will be one of several that will integrate with our state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer center in Oakland slated to open in the spring of 2026, co-branded with an NCI-designated academic medical center.
The ideal candidate for this position is a medical oncologist with at least 3-5 years of experience providing cancer care post-fellowship. This physician will work directly with a second medical oncologist in the Antioch care center and will collaborate with the SEBMG medical oncologists working in our Berkeley-based cancer center. Support for cancer care will be coordinated centrally for all East Bay cancer sites to ensure that patients have a seamless experience of care at Sutter Health.
Sutter Health provides equitable care to our community, including cancer care, regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, or insurance coverage. Our integrated network collectively detects seventeen thousand new cancer cases annually and cares for patients at twenty integrated cancer centers. Our physician network is comprised of more than two hundred medical and radiation oncology clinicians working together to create programs of distinction in many clinical areas. As we expand cancer care in the East Bay, we will also expand the clinical trials available to our patients which currently number more than 150 across our network. While Sutter Health already has centers of excellence in neuro-oncology, hematologic malignancy, and cellular therapies, we expect to develop additional programs of distinction in the East Bay over the next five years.
