What You'll Do

As the Medical Director of Adult Emergency Medicine, you will:

  • Split your time 25% clinical and 75% administrative, balancing hands-on patient care with strategic leadership responsibilities.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Oversee daily operations of a high-acuity adult emergency department, managing scheduling, performance evaluations, and quality assurance.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize care protocols, monitor key metrics, and drive quality improvements across Rochester General Hospital and the RRH system.
  • Represent the department in hospital committees, community outreach, and media relations as a trusted leader and spokesperson.
  • Partner with hospital administration on strategic planning, budgeting, and enhancing emergency department performance.


What You Bring

  • Board Certification: Required in Emergency Medicine.
  • Licensure: Active New York State medical license (or eligibility)
  • Certifications: Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of clinical experience required. Leadership experience in a high-volume emergency department preferred.
  • Commitment: Passion for delivering exceptional care and inspiring teams to excel under your leadership.
  • Vision: A focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation that drives system-wide improvements.
  • Collaboration: Ability to build strong partnerships within the health system and the community, including EMS organizations.
