Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services not only include basic medical care, but also dental, optometry, behavioral health services, fitness, nutrition and other family programs.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a key member of our practice, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive care for adult and pediatric patients, depending on specialty focus.
  • Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.
  • Determines nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and laboratory tests.
  • Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity program, as indicated by diagnosis.
  • Refers patient to medical specialist when indicated.
  • Assists clinic administration in developing and implementing programs relevant to providing health care for Native Americans served by the clinic.
  • Participates in appropriate in-service education programs for health professionals at the clinic.
  • Maintains confidentiality, security and integrity of patient data and information.
  • Maintains licensure and appropriate certifications.

Qualifications: 

  • Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.
  • Must align with OKCIC vision, mission and core values.
  • Must hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have documentation of completion of residency in Family Medicine OR Internal Medicine from accredited residency program. 
  • Must hold an unrestricted professional license in the State of Oklahoma
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current CPR is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALCS) preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge with excellent diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with patients and communicate effectively.
  • Compassionate, empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
