RWJBarnabas Healththe largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is seeking a board-certified/eligible Intensivist for the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC). This Intensivist will work a hybrid model of day and night shifts.

This 653-bed quaternary care regional care teaching hospital offers a wide array of comprehensive services, including robust Cardiac Care. It features the only certified Lung Transplant program in the state and is one of the nation’s top 15 heart transplant centers!

This opportunity is located in Essex County and allows for an easy commute to New York City. It is also a short drive to the famous Jersey Shore beaches and boardwalks. ABOUT POSITION:

  • Care provided in an exclusively inpatient setting (24-bed adult medical and surgical ICU), multidisciplinary, collaborative/closed model ICU
  • Management of all hospital emergencies, including RRTs, codes, and procedures
  • Focuses on quality, safety and evidence-based medicine
  • Teaching fellows, residents, students, nursing and other ICU staff
  • 10-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shift

This is an excellent opportunity for an eager physician to join a well-established, multidisciplinary team that aims to provide high-level care at a teaching hospital and become a part of the Critical Care Service Line at RWJBarnabas Health.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BC/BE in Critical Care Medicine
  • Well-versed in critical care procedures
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey
  • A team player comfortable working in collaborative efforts with other physicians
  • Ideal candidates will be eager to join a multidisciplinary team, and be comfortable working in a teaching and collaborative setting
