Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for a Pediatric Hematology Oncology physician to join our growing team in the region allowing us to care for even more patients This position provides the opportunity to work in a highly engaging and collaborative environment with the support and resources of the Children’s Institute and Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute to provide the best care for our pediatric and young adult patients.
The selected candidate will join a vibrant and growing program that currently includes 15 Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologists, 2 PhD and 10 nurse practitioners and dedicated disease-based care coordinators, providing more than 10,000 patient visits per year. Programs include full Hematology/Oncology services along with FACT accredited Blood and Marrow Transplantation. The program is part of many collaborations including but not limited to COG, NEXT consortium, NAPAAC, NICER consortium, Sunrise consortium, Beat Childhood Cancer consortium and Sickle Cell Disease Alliance. The department has a very well established ACGME accredited hematology oncology fellowship program. Additionally, the department is part of the Children’s Institute and works in close collaboration with Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute and the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The candidate would join our diverse team of hematologists who actively treat patients with a variety of common and rare hematologic diseases. These diseases include hemoglobinopathies, other anemias, cytopenias, bleeding disorders, bone marrow failure, immune-hematology, thrombosis and vascular malformations. The hematology team has established a comprehensive lifespan sickle cell medical neighborhood program and bone marrow failure program. The candidate would participate take part in developing our expanding outreach program across northeast Ohio to provide general hematology care within the community. In addition, the candidate would assist in continued development of inpatient hematology clinical programs with a focus on thrombosis and hemostasis to support our rapidly growing children's hospital. The candidate will be supported by a dedicated hematology APP, care coordinator, and social worker. The candidate would also be expected to participate in clinical research efforts and be committed to teaching our fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees.
The candidate should be Assistant, Associate level with strong clinical and clinical research interests in hematology, preferably thrombosis. The candidate should be board certified or board eligible in pediatric hematology oncology. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments is expected at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
