Wentworth Douglass Hospital, a regional hospital within the Mass General Brigham system, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Provider (MD/DO) to join our dynamic Wound Healing Institute and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy team in picturesque Dover, NH. This is a per diem position designed to provide coverage during summer, holiday, and sick days. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering comprehensive care for patients with complex and chronic wound conditions, utilizing advanced techniques and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote healing and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wound Care Management: Provide comprehensive management for a diverse range of wound types, including venous, arterial, and diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, pyoderma gangrenosum, cancerous or neoplastic wounds, traumatic wounds, post-surgical wounds, and chronic or complex conditions.
- Advanced Wound Care: Employ advanced techniques and modalities, including skin substitutes, negative pressure wound therapy, multilayer compression wrapping, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and ultrasonic mist therapy when appropriate.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside a team of healthcare providers, including nurses, licensed nursing assistants (LNAs), and other specialists, to optimize patient care and healing outcomes.
- Pain and Infection Management: Address patient pain, infection control, and other complications to facilitate optimal wound healing.
- Schedule: Flexible day shifts with variable hours, providing support as needed for summer, holiday, and sick-day coverage.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification: Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Surgery) required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of wound care experience
- Licensure: Active medical licensure in the state of New Hampshire.
- Certification: CWSP (Certified Wound Specialist Physician) or other wound care certification is highly preferred but not required.
