The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Cardio-Oncologist to lead the Section of Cardio-Oncology within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position Overview
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a board-certified/ board-eligible noninvasive cardiologist to join an elite team of academic physicians at the assistant or associate professor rank. The successful candidate will have expertise in the emerging field of cardio-oncology, focusing on understanding the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular toxicity of oncologic treatments, preventative care, and management of cardiovascular complications from therapy. Care would include routine and complex cardio-oncology related cardiovascular care in inpatient and outpatient consultative and primary services in a world-class facility at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, and Solove Research Institute. There is a robust infrastructure for physicians and physician-scientists to build clinical and translational programs within the Cardio-Oncology Program. Candidates with a translational and clinical research program or experience in imaging preferred but not required. The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. Most of our faculty are principal investigators on various research projects in both the basic, translational, and clinical research settings.

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, comprised of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas to include: general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The Division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, which ranked as “Best Hospital” in the top 50 in the nation as reported by US News and World Report. In addition to the 60 cardiologists, there are six fellowship programs: core cardiovascular medicine fellowship, interventional cardiology fellowship, electrophysiology fellowship, heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging fellowship. The OSUCCC – James strives to create a cancer-free world by integrating research with excellence in education and patient-centered care. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.?

These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study.
