Chief, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Albany Medical College is seeking a strong and enthusiastic leader to serve as Chief of our Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Albany Medical College is part of the Albany Med Health System, which serves as the only academic health sciences center and Level 1 trauma center in northeastern New York. As Chief of the Division, you will lead the division as it continues to provide comprehensive care throughout the capital region.

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine division directs a Fellowship training program (of 10 fellows) and has unique faculty expertise in:

  • Chronic respiratory diseases including COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension and cystic fibrosis
  • Advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including interventional pulmonology
  • Sleep medicine including the treatment of sleep apnea
  • Interstitial lung disease and pulmonary sarcoidosis
  • ICU management for patients with respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, multi-organ failure and other complex conditions

As Chief, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee and manage clinical operations and the education of fellows in a high demand pulmonary and critical care program
  • Administer care to a diverse and complicated disease population of patients
  • Work alongside experienced physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver top quality care

Qualifications include:

  • MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and/or Critical Care Medicine
  • Experience or interest in leadership, education and program development.
  • Eligible for academic appointment at associate professor or professor level
  • Clinical research is highly desired

Compensation and Professional Development:

  • Competitive compensation package, including salary, comprehensive benefits, and retirement options.
  • Salary range (as required in New York State) commensurate with rank and experience: $290,000-370,000
  • Opportunities for professional development, including leadership training, administrative and financial support, and external collaborations.
