As a Family Medicine Physician at Oak Orchard Health, you will be part of a dynamic care team and provide a full scope of primary care services. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Clinical Leadership: Lead the care team in medical decision-making and provide supervision and collaboration to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs).

Patient Care:
-
Perform Health History and Physical Examinations (HPI).

Diagnose and counsel patients on treatment plans.
-
Prescribe medications in accordance with New York State regulations.

Perform minor surgical procedures as necessary.

Generate referrals for patients requiring services outside of primary care.

Review patient data (labs, reports, diagnostic imaging, etc.) and manage follow-up care.

Complete accurate and timely chart documentation.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Participate in quality assurance projects and peer reviews.

Assist in the development and update of medical protocols.

Participate in outreach programs and off-site healthcare initiatives.

Professional Development:
-
Maintain Board Certification in Family Medicine or become Board Certified within 18 months of hire.

Stay updated on evidence-based primary care through Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Education & Licensing:
-
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

Current New York State medical license.
-
DEA certificate required for prescribing medications.

Certification:
-
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine.

CPR Certification required.

Experience:
-
Previous experience in family medicine or primary care settings is preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
