Overview

As a medical director at USACS, you will be responsible for collaborating with the hospital and nursing leadership while offering support to your physician staff. You will serve as a leader both within the emergency department, and as a leader within the organization. Details 

  • Oversee the operations of the ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration
  • Supervise the EM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution
  • Represent the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff

Salary

  • Excellent clinical compensation with an estimated employed W-2 base pay range of $140/hour to $245/hour PLUS comprehensive USACS benefits, a 10% company-funded 401k and USACS ownership stock. Additional leadership stipend between $72-$84K annually.

Hospital

  • 60-bed hospital
  • ER and imaging center in neighborhood for easy access for the community
  • In-house 24-hour Hospitalist service, general surgery, orthopedic, critical care intensivist physicians available for all admissions
  • Medical staff of 800 representing most major specialties, including:
    • Hospitalist service
    • Neurosurgery
    • Interventional Cardiology with an active Cardiac Catherization service
    • Trauma surgery
    • Interventional Radiology
    • Certified Stroke Program
  • Radiologists read all studies 24-7
  • Close referral and consultative relationships with three sister facilities in the near vicinity, including two Level II Trauma Centers
  • Modern equipment includes helical and conventional CT scanners, MRI
  • Responsive lab and x-ray with turnaround times of less than one hour; point of care STAT labs, etc.

Emergency Department

  • Annual ED Volume: 21,000
  • 14% admission rate, representing >75% of total hospital admissions
  • Level III Trauma Center
  • 12 main ED treatment rooms plus Split-Flow area with 5 Fast-Track Patient services sites
  • Close proximity to all radiology services, with bedside ultrasound in the main ED
  • ED Point of Care testing
  • Flexible documentation system using templates and voice recognition. Scribes available
  • Emergency physicians do not write admitting orders
  • Excellent ACLS-certified nursing staff
  • EPIC EMR
