The Department of Anesthesiology at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont /University of Vermont Medical Center, in affiliation with the University of Vermont Medical Group, is seeking a Board certified or Board eligible Pediatric Attending Anesthesiologist with an interest in supporting our teaching, research, and clinical missions. Pediatric cases include varied subspecialties (general, ENT, Urology, Ortho, etc.). No pediatric cardiac coverage/cases. This is a full-time clinical scholar pathway faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level based at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Responsibilities will include clinical care for all subspecialties of anesthesia including a mix of pediatric anesthesia, as well as adult general OR, obstetrics, adult neurosurgery, and trauma.
Provide clinical anesthesiology care to patients as directed by Department Chair or delegate including main Operating Rooms and ambulatory areas. Will be mix of solo and supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Anesthesiology Assistants (CAAs) and residents as appropriate.
UVMMC is a busy academic hospital with a Level-1 trauma center and we are the only location for tertiary referrals for the catchment area of Vermont and northern upstate New York for all surgeries. We have a large collegial department that consists of Anesthesiologists, Nurse Anesthetists, Anesthesiologist Assistants, a residency program, a pain fellowship and nurse practitioners.
