Mercy Health is actively seeking an exceptional Board-Certified Colorectal Surgeon to join our esteemed General Surgery Practice, focusing on building a new colorectal subspecialty service line within the Toledo market. As a Fellowship-Trained Colorectal Surgeon, preferably Board-Certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery, you will have the unique opportunity to build and lead a colorectal practice with strong collaborative ties to oncology and other surgical services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to colorectal patients, including initial consultations, the development of surgical plans, surgery, and follow-up visits.
  • Work collaboratively with a highly skilled team of specialists, including oncology, general surgery, and other surgical services, ensuring the best possible patient care.
  • Teach and mentor residents in the General Surgery Residency Program, contributing to the academic and clinical growth of the next generation of surgeons.
  • Ensure continuity of care by coordinating follow-up care and collaborating with oncology and other services to meet the evolving needs of patients.
  • Deliver a full range of colorectal services, leveraging advanced technology and a robust support system to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Board-Certified General Surgeon with Fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery.
  • Board Certification in Colon and Rectal Surgery is preferred.
  • Strong passion for providing comprehensive care and building a subspecialty service.
  • Experience or interest in teaching and mentoring within a residency program.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to excellent patient care and a patient-centered approach.
