The
Heart Team at Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a full-time EP Cardiologist to join our highly collegial team in caring for our patients. The Electrophysiology Program at Hennepin Healthcare provides both inpatient and outpatient services, supporting clinicians with EP consultations, and supporting patients via clinic visits, EP procedures, and implantable cardiac device management. The role includes some time partnering with Sanford
Bemidji Heart and Vascular Center.
In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Opportunity Highlights
- Responsibilities for inpatient EP consults, device clinic, EP procedures, and EP clinic will be shared evenly with our current Electrophysiologist.
- Outpatient EP consultations and follow-up at the Clinic and Specialty Center.
- Inpatient cardiology consultations on the teaching service with a fellow, residents, and students.
- General cardiology call (1 in 8 nights, 6-7 weekends/year).
- Strong fellowship program (hosted in conjunction with Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute), allowing faculty to work 1:1 with high-quality fellows who rotate 50% of their time at each institution.
- All cardiology division members belong to the Department of Internal Medicine and have academic positions at the University of Minnesota Medical School

Minimum Qualifications
- Unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota (or eligible for licensure).
- Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship training program in Cardiovascular Disease or an AOA accredited fellowship training program in Cardiology.
- Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship training program in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology or an AOA accredited fellowship training program in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
- Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease by the ABIM or in Cardiology by the AOBIM or equivalent certification by the RCPSC. If Eligible, must be certified within four years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship, or training program.
- Board Certified/Eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology by the ABIM or in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology by the AOBIM or equivalent certification by the RCPSC. If Eligible, must be certified within four years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship, or training program.
- Must have advanced skills, including ability to perform atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablation procedures.
- Strong commitment to post-graduate medical training.
