Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities.

UT Tyler School of Medicine - UT Tyler Health Science Center is searching for a Board-Certified Faculty Psychiatrist to join UT Health East Texas in its Pittsburg, TX, location- 55 mi from Tyler/120 mi from Dallas.

About the Position:

  • 50% consults – Supervising psychiatry residents in our collaborative care service at UT Health Pittsburg and telehealth in UT Health Quitman/ UT Health Jacksonville
  • 50% outpatient supervision of psychiatry residents
  • Academic Leadership Role is available, but not a requirement

About the Hospital:
UT Health Pittsburg is a 25-bed community hospital that is a part of UT Health East Texas. The facility received the top grade for patient experience according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. About UT Tyler School of Medicine:

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.

The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.
