Hospitalist - Assistant Medical Director - AdventHealth Deland

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a dynamic and quality-focused physician leader to join our esteemed team of hospitalists at our highly rated, 164-bed hospital in DeLand, FL.

We are looking for a physician leader with a collaborative leadership style who will model and lead excellence in clinical practice, doctor-patient relationships, and professionalism while upholding AdventHealth's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Team Composition:

• 10-day physicians
• 2 nocturnists
• 2 APPs

Schedule:

• 7 on / 7 off schedule
• Day shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM
• Night shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Assistant Medical Director: 7 on / 7 off Day (182 shifts per year) with both clinical and administrative duties and protected time for administrative responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the Medical Director with oversight of quality improvement projects to ensure compliance with hospital quality of care and safety programs
• Develop program goals and conduct ongoing individual assessments of providers
• Orient and coach new hospitalists in the program
• Collaborate with medical group and hospital leadership to enhance operational efficiencies and manage budget costs
• Promote and attend meetings, and assist in the development of educational programs related to hospitalist providers
• Coordinate the hospitalist schedule (via AMION) to ensure program efficiency and productivity while maintaining safe and quality patient care
• Address and resolve patient or physician grievances, care opportunities, complaints, and/or questions related to the AHMG Hospitalist program

Requirements:

• Board Certification / Eligibility through ABIM or ABMS
• Team player with a patient-first mindset
• Excellent communication skills
• Eligible for active Florida license
• Ability to collaborate closely with consultants and support staff

Practice Overview: The practice is part of AdventHealth Medical Group, which includes over 80 providers in the hospitalist team.
