Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health or designee, the Clinical Psychologist assists clients who are in need of Mental Health services through individual, couples, and/or group psychotherapy, which is typically short-term. The Clinical Psychologist will receive referrals from Behavioral Health, Primary Care and outside referral sources.
Job Status: SIGN ON BONUS, Hybrid, Salaried Exempt
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Completes comprehensive Mental Health Assessments.
- Provides psychotherapy that reflects APA best practices for the standard of care.
- Develops a treatment plan, in collaboration with the client that addresses mental health, substance use, and other relevant issues, including short- and long-term treatment goals.
- Monitors progress toward treatment goals and supports adherence to the treatment plan.
- Completes thorough and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record.
- Refers to a psychiatrist or higher level of care, if appropriate.
- Maximizes appropriate delivery of client service through coordinating efforts with medical providers, case managers, and other departments as appropriate.
- Provides clinical supervision of Psychological Associate interns and ASW Interns as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Skill in utilizing various forms of psychotherapy, including cognitive/behavioral, interpersonal, dialectical behavioral, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
- Active and Unrestricted License as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of California
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited BLS certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a clinical setting as a psychotherapist.
- Experience:
- Using an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
- Working in the LGBTQ community, preferred.
- Working in an FQHC, preferred.
- Working with persons affected by substance use, preferred.
- Current Medicare provider, preferred.
