Mission or Goal of Unit:
The mission of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department is to provide the highest quality clinical care in both general and specialty Obstetrics and Gynecology to the women of central Virginia. In addition to the clinical mission, the department has the allied goals of providing undergraduate and graduate medical education in the field and advancing the field through basic and clinical research.

Chief Purpose of this position:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking qualified candidates to provide specialty care in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery to patients at VCU Health. The position will include participation in student and resident education as well as participating in the department’s clinical research activities.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching
The faculty member will be responsible for actively participating in the department's educational activities, with particular attention to educating students and residents in their core educational objectives in urogynecology and pelvic floor disorders.
Research
The person filling the position is encouraged to initiate clinical research projects. They are expected to participate in and facilitate other department research.
Service
Faculty member will serve on departmental, hospital, and university committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field.
Clinical
The Urogynecology faculty member will see specialty specific patients in clinic, perform diagnostic procedures such as urodynamics, and will have an active surgical practice, which will include minimally invasive and robotic procedures. The staff member will also participate in the general gynecologic activities of the department as appropriate including nighttime call duties.
Other
The staff member will participate in department and institutional administrative activities as assigned by the division chief and department chair.
