IM/FP Needed in a Membership-Based Practice - West Side of Albuquerque, NM

MDVIP is seeking a Board-Certified physician who is interested in working in a membership-based practice on the westside of Albuquerque. An experienced Family Medicine physician is preferred; however, Internal Medicine physicians will also be considered.

After many years of building a successful practice, the current physician is now aiming to expand the practice by adding a qualified candidate.

This practice differs from the traditional primary care practices we have all become accustomed to:

1. You are evaluated on the quality of your work, not the quantity.
2. Unique office environment which offers a more personal approach than traditional clinics.
3. Fosters and values close relationships between providers, staff, and patients.
4. Commitment to excellence in communication is critical to success in this setting.

A typical office day might look like this:

1. 10-12 patient visits per day, which includes on average, 3 wellness visits, each averaging an estimated 90 minutes. Remaining visits will include urgent care, hospital follow-up or chronic disease maintenance.
2. Typical workflow with prescription refills, patient portal responses, review of labs, and radiology and specialty consults.
3. More emphasis on lifestyle modification due to the allowable 90 minutes for wellness visits.
4. Educational opportunities through MDVIP are available in several different formats.

The ideal candidate:

1. Should have at least 5 to 10 years of primary care experience
2. Should have significant experience in geriatric care and enjoy working with seniors, since this is a majority adult medicine practice.
3. May be asked to perform certain aspects of Women’s Health Services when indicated.
4. Should preferably have knowledge of basic pediatric urgent care and well-child visits; this is a small part of the practice.
5. Should have a clean malpractice and unrestricted New Mexico medical license.
