The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated, full-time Assistant Professor for its Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. This clinical educator track position involves providing inpatient and outpatient care, mentoring the next generation of medical professionals, and contributing to innovative research within the fields of pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive care to pediatric GI patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Teaching and Mentorship: Supervise and educate fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in shared on-call responsibilities with the division’s faculty.
  • Research: Engage in basic, translational, and clinical research with a focus on publications and grant submissions.

Qualifications

  • Education: M.D. or D.O., board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in Florida; DEA license required.
  • Experience: Completion of a Pediatric GI fellowship, with proficiency in teaching students and housestaff.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, research proficiency, and demonstrated success in clinical/basic/translational research.
  • Additional Qualifications: Leadership, committee service, and community outreach experience; bilingual Spanish/English or Creole/English skills helpful.
