This role will lead collaborative and strategic direction setting initiatives to meet the mission and vision of the San Francisco Department of Public Health. In partnership with the executive team, this position will lead departmental performance and improvement, program review and redesign, and leadership development activities using Lean methodology and other strategic performance improvement tools. This position will also develop and promote an organizational culture which is open to and empowers innovation, creativity, problem solving, and learning at all levels of the department, from executive leadership to frontline staff.
Minimum Required Experience and Knowledge:
• Valid current CA Board Certification in a medical specialty
• Three (3) years of post-residency experience as a practicing physician in the respective medical specialty area.
Desired Qualifications:
• 5 yrs within Sr. Leadership in a healthcare or public health environment
• 5 yrs experience training and leading lean performance improvement methodologies
• Lean/Six Sigma or other PI methodology certification
• Experience with strategic planning and deployment, daily management system and principle-based leadership.
• Strong project management skills
• Strong relational and communication skills
• Proven skills in data utilization, validation and use of data analysis tools and data visualization and presentation
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
