The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Trinitas Regional Medical Center. The Department is responsible for all anatomic and clinical laboratory services at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, a 554-bed Level II trauma center that provides comprehensive health care for the region. The successful candidate will be the leader of the pathology laboratory at Trinitas, responsible for oversight of all aspects of the laboratory operation. This individual will provide leadership for staff, will plan, organize and direct the activities of the Laboratory with the assistance of managers, supervisors and senior technologists and will serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, closely collaborating with physicians and other health care providers. The Director will have responsibility for providing clinical direction to the Trinitas laboratory, including laboratory oversight, test validation and maintenance of College of American Pathologists accreditation of the laboratory; experience in a CAP accredited laboratory is desirable. As a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff and participating in tumor boards is expected. This is a general pathology service within a community hospital, although subspecialty expertise in cytopathology is desirable.
An MD, DO, or MBBS is required along with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and academic experience. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
