Join a team that’s Changing What’s Possible – The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Surgery is actively seeking a dynamic and dedicated board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeon to join our growing Division of Plastic Surgery as the Section Chief of Breast Reconstruction. The chosen candidate will play a key role in augmenting and developing our breast reconstruction program, participate in the education of residents and fellows, and contribute to the future of our division.
The MUSC Department of Surgery is home to NIH-funded researchers and world-class clinicians, the department has achieved medical milestones, including South Carolina's first heart transplant and robotic mitral valve surgery. U.S. News & World Report ranked the MUSC Children’s Hospital Cardiology & Heart Surgery #4 nationally in 2023, and our transplant program is recognized for excellence, ranking #5 in kidney transplants and #1 in kidney-pancreas transplants.
The Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Hand Surgery at MUSC boasts fully accredited programs for both integrated residency and independent fellowship training, with a microsurgery fellowship planned for 2025. With over 800 beds across the Main University Hospital and Ashley River Tower, the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital (250 beds) and Pediatric and Adult Burn facilities, MUSC is at the forefront of healthcare in the Low Country of South Carolina, serving a diverse population of over 800,000.
