OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

St. Peters Health Partners is seeking a full-time Hospice Physician for its Albany/Rensselaer location. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected and compassionate team of caregivers as it continues to provide service to the Capital District.

The Community Hospice is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that serves eight counties in the Capital Region of upstate New York through three regional offices and is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP). We are part of St. Peter's Health Partners and are privileged to work with every hospital in the region to provide hospice services. We also collaborate with 43 skilled nursing facilities and many assistive living/adult homes across our service area. And the majority of our patients are served where they prefer to be at end of life to maximize quality of life – their home. We serve over 4,000 patients annually, with an average daily census of 540 patients. Our service area covers: Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Columbia, Greene, Washington, and Montgomery Counties.

Physicians meet routinely with the entire hospice interdisciplinary group (nurses, social workers, chaplains) for care planning to meet each patient's and family's specific needs, serves as a resource to and collaborates with the hospice patient's community medical providers (including prescribing medications), is responsible for certifying the hospice patient's initial and ongoing eligibility for hospice services, helps to determine the appropriate level of hospice care, and may serve as the hospice patient's attending physician.

Our physicians visit patients in their homes, nursing homes, and hospitals as necessary, and routinely participates in the education of medical students, NP and PA students, as well as residents and Geriatrics Fellows. On-call responsibilities will be shared by a group of 5 hospice physicians.

The Community Hospice is an innovative organization, directing a well-established Palliative Care Partners service line across our affiliated health system (inpatient, outpatient, and home-based). We provide a thorough orientation and supportive work environment.

RECRUITMENT PACKAGE

St. Peter’s Health Partners offers a comprehensive salary and compensation package that includes:

  • Starting Bonus and Competitive Salary with incentives.
  • Compensation is between $243,750 and $251,199
  • The posted salary reflects the starting range of the total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
