OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking to recruit a full-time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist on behalf of Ellis Hospital located in Schenectady, NY. Ellis Psychiatry has been helping people overcome mental illness for more than 50 years and offers specialized services for adults, children, and adolescents. The adult outpatient clinic, situated in a recently renovated space, is a highly supportive, collaborative, and collegial interdisciplinary environment that provides outstanding mental health treatment to a vulnerable population. The clinic offers multiple programs and services, including integrated primary care, medication management, individual and group therapy, personalized recovery-oriented services (PROS), and crisis diversion services for adults, children, and their families.

Position Details:

  • The Psychiatrist would evaluate and treat adult patients with a broad range of mental health challenges, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, personality disorders, and those with dual diagnosis conditions.
  • Providers have up to 90min for initial intake appointments and up to 30 minute follow-ups.
  • In addition to medication management, there are opportunities for providers with an interest to provide individual psychotherapy and/or lead psychotherapy groups.
  • Position hours: Mon-Fri, 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts
  • Call: All call is paid extra, usually provider volunteered. Typical call schedule would be 1 weeknight (telephone only) every 4 weeks and 1 weekend (in-person) every 8 weeks. 

Requirements:  Applicants should have the following:

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • DEA Licensure/NYS licensure required
  • Experience treating an adult psychiatric patient population
  • Applicants should possess excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing care that is team oriented

RECRUITMENT PACKAGE

St. Peter’s Health Partners offers a comprehensive salary and compensation package that includes:

  • Competitive base salary including starting bonus
  • Compensation is between $270,000 and $317,500
  • The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
