Akron Children’s Hospital is the only freestanding pediatric hospital in Northeast Ohio and the 8^th largest children’s hospital in the country. We are a major teaching affiliate of Northeast Ohio Medical University. Active involvement in medical student and resident education; academic appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University is available and commensurate with experience. The City of Alliance is located in the northeastern portion of Stark Count and is minutes northeast of Canton, Ohio. They are less than an hour southeast of Cleveland. The population of Alliance is more than 20,000 but there are more than 40,000 people that live within a five-mile radius of city.   

The historic downtown area is experiencing a gradual renaissance, with the opening of a Saturday Farmers' Market on Main Street near the historic Caboose, and the renovation of a storefront on Main Street as an art gallery and live performance space, joining a scattering of antique shops and other businesses. Education in Alliance has seen significant growth in recent years. The leader in that arena is the beautiful 123-acre University of Mount Union campus located just blocks from the Alliance practice.  

The Department of Parks and Recreation maintains 220 acres consisting of 24 parks so there is something for every outdoor enthusiast. Nearby Berlin Lake offers boat and fishing enthusiasts an ideal setting for camping, boating, and water recreation.  There are many great communities within an easy commute and is centrally located between Akron, Alliance, and Canton with easy access to the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The location is in close proximity to great public and private schools.
