Outpatient Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider

The Section of Neurosurgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work in the outpatient setting to evaluate surgical patients and provide pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups. You will partner with attending neurosurgeons to provide appropriate care to patients, including performing history and physical exams, ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic tests, assisting with admission and discharge of patients, obtaining consent, and providing education to patients regarding plan of care. You will be involved in instructing medical students, residents, and fellows, and a Faculty Appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively. Prior experience in neurosurgery is preferred but not required. This is a full-time day shift, benefited position with no call and no weekend responsibility.
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is New Hampshire’s only academic medical center and a level I trauma center. Our Neurosurgery team performs approximately 1,000 major neurosurgical procedures each year.
Position Overview:
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts/week
- Outpatient care of adult Neurosurgery patients with an opportunity to focus on the spine
- Academic appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College to be requested
- Prior experience in neurosurgery is preferred but not required
