Core Faculty Family Medicine/OB Physician
Shenandoah Valley Family Practice Residency Program – affiliated with VCU
Outstanding opportunity to join our well-established faculty members in a hospital employed practice and fully accredited 3-year residency program, founded in 1998. We are growing to 6 residents in each class with a mission to train new quality family physicians for practice in Virginia’s rural areas and small towns. Our academic affiliation with MCV/VCU School of Medicine affords our faculty and residents with additional resources and training.
Ideally located in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley with two complementary sites – within a 23 mile radius. The residency clinic is located within the new Warren Memorial Hospital, a 36-bed facility. This is where you would provide both outpatient and inpatient care with on-call admissions with the residency team. We also provide obstetrical delivery services at Winchester Medical Center, recognized as one of the best hospitals in Virginia and is a 495-bed regional referral facility. You will spend a majority of time on clinical precepting, direct resident and medical student education in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and educational administration. The remaining time will be devoted to your own direct clinical practice within the residency clinic.
Winchester and Front Royal are the fastest-growing metro areas in Virginia, attracting a diverse mix of residents including young professionals, families and retirees. Known for its scenic beauty, four seasons and abundance of recreational activities – the region offers a robust community, balanced lifestyle, excellent public and private schools and affordable housing options. Ideally located within 60 miles of Washington, DC and Dulles.
We look forward to reviewing your focus and exploring the attributes you would bring to this position. Board certification/eligibility is required and 2 years’ experience is preferred. Join our team and experience the joy of fostering the growth and development of future colleagues.
