Position Overview:

  • The Stroke Director will report to the CMO of Northeast Georgia Health System with additional reporting relationship the Executive Director of the Neuroscience Service Line.
  • Provide leadership in ongoing initiatives of the Stroke Program, maintaining Stroke Center Certification status, and ensuring quality, evidence-based stroke care.
    • Treatment time benchmarks
    • Performance outcomes
    • Education requirements
    • Policies and Procedure compliance
    • Other DNV/Coverdell criteria per appropriate facility certification Collaborate in an efficient operation and oversight of the Stroke program
  • Development of NGHS System Stroke Program objectives and provide input on budgets, equipment, staffing to achieve the objectives
  • Development of agenda for and the leading of stroke committee meetings to discuss group management and clinical improvement
  • Provide direct patient care as a member of the Stroke program and provide consultative advice to inpatient neurology and neurocritical care physicians

Neurology Practice Overview:

  • Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 Trauma at our Gainesville campus and Primary Stroke Center at both our Braselton and Barrow campuses
  • Robust Neurology program that includes:
    •  Outpatient Neurologists and APPs
    • 12 bed Neuro-Critical Care Unit covered by dedicated Neurocritical Care Team
  • Experienced support staff includes a dedicated Stroke Coordinator, Educator and Stroke Navigator
  • 24/7 EEG Support
  • EMR Platform – EPIC

Working together with Physician Leaders like you:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist
  • Minimum of three years of Neurology or Neuro-critical care work experience and ability to demonstrate clinical and administrative leadership skills.
  • Functions well in a team environment, contributing to and supporting organizational goals and initiatives.
