Position Overview:

In partnership with the University of Arizona, Banner University Medical Group Phoenix is now interviewing Neuromuscular specialists to join the Clinical Faculty. The successful candidate will join the renowned team of academically oriented, supportive, collegial neuroscience and academic leaders. With our thriving residency program, the qualified candidate will have an enthusiastic commitment to teaching or research while delivering exceptional patient care to a diverse community. The suitable candidate will receive a faculty appointment consistent with their credentials and have faculty status at the University of Arizona.

 

Join a Neurology Department comprised of over 60 faculty members; multidisciplinary programs using the full range of treatment modalities to care for patients; a vibrant neurology residency program and subspecialty fellowships. The Department includes large, outpatient state-of-the-art facilities, and an established network of resources including a dedicated outpatient neurology infusion center, neuropsychology, social work, physical, occupational, recreational, and speech therapies; and acclaimed community outreach programs. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a high volume, diverse, and medically complex patient population in collaboration with an outstanding multidisciplinary team.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or DO State of Arizona medical license upon start
  • Board Certified or Board eligible in Neuromuscular Medicine or equivalent by the ABPN
  • Fellowship training in neuromuscular diseases
  • Proficiency in EMG

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with nerve/muscle/skin biopsies, autonomic testing, neuromuscular ultrasound, neuromuscular pathology, and intrathecal drug delivery

 

Specific Duties:

  • Evaluate and treat common and rare neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis, CIDP, ALS, and muscular dystrophy among many others.
  • Ambulatory and occasional in-patient consultation
  • Scholarly activity including independent research, collaborative research projects, or clinical trials
  • Teaching medical students, neurological residents, rotating Neuromuscular Fellow clinics, nurses, and advanced practice providers
  • Function as a highly cohesive and collaborative division with an expectation of camaraderie, teamwork, and professionalism
