The Division of Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine is seeking a dedicated Staff Physician to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide medical care to patients in various outpatient settings across Dade and Broward County.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that address biological, psychological, and sociocultural needs.
  • Perform thorough physical assessments and prescribe appropriate medical treatments and medications.
  • Collect accurate patient information from medical records, patient interviews, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and support staff to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed and counsel them on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
  • Participate in training, in-service programs, and a 24-hour coverage schedule, including after-hours phone calls and hospital coverage.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and organized documentation of all services rendered.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification: M.D. in a relevant field. Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Board Certified or Eligible in Geriatrics (certification required within 2 years of hire).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and handle confidential information with discretion.

Work Environment:

  • Outpatient clinical settings across multiple locations in Dade and Broward County.
  • Collaborative environment with opportunities for professional development and ongoing education.

Additional Information:

  • Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Will maintain an active hospital practice and represent UHealth facilities in the community.
  • This position requires adherence to university and unit-level policies and safeguarding of university assets.
