NORTON CHILDREN’S SURGERY, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking a board-certified, fellowship[1]trained pediatric surgeon interested in a leadership role in pediatric surgery. This surgeon will join a team of expert clinicians that includes six board-certified pediatric surgeons, five nurse practitioners and multiple skilled providers caring for pediatric surgery patients from birth through adolescence. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop leadership and administrative skills through participation in our American College of Surgeons (ACS) verification programs for children’s surgery and trauma care.
This opportunity will provide a career focus on quality and process improvement. The ideal candidate also will be appropriate for the rank of associate professor or professor.
All of our pediatric surgeons perform a broad spectrum of pediatric operations. They also serve as faculty in the UofL School of Medicine Department of Surgery and educate the next generation of surgeons through our involvement in the General Surgery Residency Program and Pediatric Surgery Fellowship. The team has led Norton Children’s Hospital’s efforts in achieving the highest level of certification (Level I) through both the ACS Children’s Surgery Verification Program and the ACS Trauma Verification Program
