Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Neonatologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Harlem is a Level III Neonatal ICU with 15 beds which provides care to preemies 22 weeks and onwards. NICU services include bubble CPAP, conventional and high frequency ventilators, nitric oxide and has subspecialty services of Pediatrics surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology, genetics, neurology and infectious disease. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Opportunity Details:

  • Clinical responsibility - attending to high risk deliveries and manage preterm and full term newborns
  • Precepting and supervising interns and residents - faculty participates in hospital and department subcommittees which include both clinical, quality improvement and resident education subcommittee
  • Responsible to supervise residents’ clinical performance and lead a bedside discussion and provide formal lecture to residents
  • Diagnosis and management of patients in Neonatal ICU in Harlem Hospital, a level 3 NICU
  • Call Schedule: Calls are scheduled 80 hours per 2 week cycle (average 40 hours per week) which include day and night and weekend call
  • Excellent work-life balance with defined clinical work hour, administrative exposure and opportunity to participate in quality improvement projects

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neonatology

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $215,000* (board eligible); $220,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $332,020** (board eligible) and $337,520** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
