HOSPITAL MEDICINE NOCTURNIST needed for growing team in New Orleans. The Department of Hospital Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans is seeking physicians to expand our night Hospital Medicine team at our tertiary academic referral center. BC/BE Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians are encouraged to apply.
Position Highlights:
- Dedicated swing and night hospitalist team with three physicians (2 swing, 1 nocturnist), two advance practice providers, multiple resident physicians, growing to add an additional attending physician.
- This nocturnist role is a second nocturnist who will work simultaneously with our lead nocturnist and swing team to provide care for hospitalized adult patients.
- Large, well-established department with 60 physicians and 16 advance practice providers who care for approximately 250-300 patients daily.
- Clinical duties include inpatient and observation admissions, cross-coverage of inpatients, emergent overnight consults, and supervision of Internal Medicine residents. Triage of admissions is performed by the lead nocturnist on duty.
- Closed ICU, dedicated ICU code blue team 24/7, dedicated rapid response team, 24/7 procedural support.
- 24/7 hospitalist transfer physician at Patient Flow Center to take transfer requests, who provides documentation and handoff for the receiving physicians.
