Chief, Division of Rheumatology, Albany Medical College
The Department of Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a Chief to lead our growing Division of Rheumatology. The Division has a vibrant ACGME-certified fellowship, a long-established scleroderma clinic, a close working relationship with the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences as well as collaborative programs with numerous specialty services. Albany Medical Center has a well-regarded pediatric rheumatology division with whom we have strong ties. Our adult Division consists of 4 academic rheumatologists; in addition, the fellowship program has links with the Albany (Stratton) VA Medical Center rheumatology service.
Albany Medical College is one of the nation’s oldest private medical schools, having been founded in 1839. The rheumatology division was established more than 50 years ago. Albany Medical Center Hospital is the only academic tertiary and quaternary care hospital in the Capital, Adirondack, and Catskill regions of Upstate New York. This vast referral base generates a tremendously varied clinic and in- hospital consultation population.
The successful candidate should be recognized as a clinical expert in his or her field. A background in program development, successful direction of clinical research, and leadership of a team of academic physicians are all highly valued. Candidates must be eligible for academic appointment at the associate professor or professor level. Salary ranges $280,000 - $300,000 commensurate with experience.
