Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a System Chief of Cardiovascular Imaging to join our team.
Job Duties
The physician leader will work closely with the System Chief of Cardiology (SCC), collaborate with all subspecialty cardiology leaders, catheterization lab directors and regional associate chiefs (RAC) to establish and grow an integrated and comprehensive Interventional Cardiology Service across Geisinger Health System (GHS).
Clinical responsibilities would include (and are not limited to):
- Personally maintain an active clinical practice that includes (but may not be limited to) cardiovascular imaging
- Coordinate Cardiovascular Imaging efforts across GHS
- Create new programs that complement existing clinical efforts and provide our communities with expanded clinical expertise
- Provide review of any clinical quality challenges that arise

System-wide, Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute has 69 Cardiologists, 12 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 12 Vascular Surgeons as well as 82 Advanced Practitioners. Services are provided at GMC in Danville, PA; The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA; Geisinger – Community Medical Center (G-CMC) in Scranton, PA; Geisinger – Gray’s Woods in State College, PA; as well as select community locations encompassing an additional Cardiologists.
Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute also offers comprehensive care for our pediatric heart patients. The pediatric and congenital heart team consists of eight Cardiologists and one Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH) at GMC.
The multidisciplinary team members of the Geisinger Heart and Vascular Institute participate in outcomes and population-based research through the Geisinger Center for Health Research; molecular, cellular and genomics research at the Siegfried and Janet Weis Center for Health Research; and trials of new drugs, devices and techniques through the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies. The Institute serves as an educational venue for five cardiology fellows per year and advanced fourth-year cardiology fellows, an annual Cardiology Symposium and frequent CME lectures.
Position Details
Requirements:
- Board Certification in Cardiovascular Diseases
- Board Certification in Echocardiography
- Active Licensure in Pennsylvania
- Current DEA and State Controlled Substance License
- Established record of clinical leadership in Cardiovascular Imaging, including Structural TEE
- Established record of administrative leadership
- Established record of academic, research and educational pursuits
- Additional training and/or Board Certification in Nuclear Cardiology, Advanced Cardiac Imaging (Cardiac MRI/CT) may also be beneficial
- Masters Preparation in Research, Statistics, Public Health or Management may be beneficial
Education
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)

Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
