Position Summary: The Medical Assistant position serves as the liaison between the patient and clinic provider team to insure a seamless patient experience. They coordinate daily clinic operations across required departments and support the Naturopathic Primary Care Physicians directly and Doctors of Chinese Medicine/Acupuncturists indirectly. They communicate regularly with patients, monitor and optimize clinician's schedules, support admin tasks such as insurance verifications, lab and prescription orders, supplies & inventory and if experienced, will be leaned on to provide ancillary clinic services such as blood draws, injections or IV therapy. The Medical Assistant position works closely with the Customer Success and Operations teams.

Helps that clinic team deliver a seamless and consistent patient experience
Protects patient health information and confidentiality
Assists clinicians with ordering and processing labs, prescriptions and imaging.
Assists clinicians with scanning and uploading documentation of lab and imaging results into EHR, as well as following up with patients when results are received to schedule follow up appointments.
Assists clinicians with patient follow-ups regarding treatment plans
Supports clinic team and ensures consistent, congruent processes are practiced by all clinicians (patient intake, check out, follow-up, outreach, rescheduling, etc.)
Assists the Clinic Practice Manager to assure clinic procedures are properly carried out
Supports the Clinic Concierges in verifying insurance benefits for patients. The MA may be asked to update patient profiles with needed information including health insurance coverage limitations and communicate with patients.
Reviews all clinic visits to assure proper scheduling, preauthorization, paperwork, check-out and charting occurs.
Provides ancillary services direct to the patient such as blood draws and injections (under the guidance of our Naturopathic physicians).
Trains and assists new team members regarding clinic procedures
Maintains a consistent schedule to ensure continuity with the needs of the patients and practitioners.

Qualifications:

3+ years' experience in medical setting (Holistic Healthcare experience is a plus)
Completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program; accredited phlebotomy training certificate or experience preferred
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Required). Experience administering IV therapy a plus.
Existing knowledge of Naturopathic medicine, Acupuncture and other traditional, natural health modalities
Good organizational skills and follow-through, able to multi-task and adapt while remaining professional and friendly towards clients and coworkers alike.
Emotionally intelligent, professional and grounded - ability to stay calm in any situation.
