SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT
QUALIFICATIONS:
An associate's degree in speech-language pathology or a related field; a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders is preferred.
Successful completion of the national certification exam for SLPAs or state licensure/certification, in accordance with state regulations for school-based practice.
Experience working with children in educational settings, including knowledge of speech and language development, and strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively support students, teachers, and therapists.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy interventions for students with speech and language disorders.
Conduct speech and language screenings and assessments under the supervision of a licensed SLP, documenting results and progress.
Provide direct therapy services to students, reinforcing strategies and exercises designed to improve communication skills in individual and group settings.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities and daily routines.
Monitor and document student progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising SLP to ensure effective service delivery.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines, participating in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in speech-language pathology.
