MHealth Fairview Health Services is looking for a Psychiatric Associate to join our outstanding Behavioral Float Pool BERT team (Behavioral Emergency Response Team)! All Psych Associates and RNs report to a nurse manager. The Behavioral Health department includes child/adolescents, adults, and seniors

The starting base rate of pay for the position is $24.27.Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

This role is approved for 60 hours, every two weeks on the day shift, working 12 hour shifts, every third weekend with a variable schedule. This position is benefit eligible. Responsibilities/Job Description:

The Psych Associate is responsible for the delivery of patient care, and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN so that the goals and objectives of treatment are achieved on each unit as assigned.

Maintains safety of patient and staff by conducting the following as assigned:

Conducts safety checks of patients through visual observation and documentation.
Conducts room, belonging and unit searches.
Responds and participates in de-escalation of patient including physical intervention as trained.
Actively participates in milieu management with treatment team collaboration.

Performs basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan:

Demonstrates knowledge of signs/symptoms of diagnoses and interventions.
Conducts educational programming with individual and/or patient groups according to appropriate treatment plan.
Responds to emergency situations as trained per policy.

Participates in the treatment team's mission, goals and plans:

Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.
Exhibits verbal communication in a timely, detailed, and professional manner.
Possesses knowledge of current issues, changes and updates in Behavioral Services policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree
Basic Life Support Certification
3-5 years of experience in caring for patients with mental health/substance use disorders

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Human Services Field
Experience working in the mental health field
Must successfully complete required Workplace Conflict Management training prior to functioning in the BERT role
