*Overview*
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, instruments, and techniques to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments, and providing support throughout the surgical process.
*Duties*
* Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
* Assist in the preparation of patients for surgery, including positioning and draping.
* Maintain sterile techniques throughout the procedure to prevent infection.
* Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with basic life support as needed.
* Perform suture techniques under the guidance of the surgical team.
* Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous materials post-surgery.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity of care in critical settings such as ICU or emergency medicine.
* Conduct thorough infection control practices to maintain a safe environment for patients.

* Strong knowledge of physiology and medical-surgical procedures.
* Proficiency in infection control protocols and best practices.
* Ability to analyze situations quickly and effectively during emergencies.
* Experience or training in critical care settings is preferred.
* Familiarity with basic life support techniques and emergency medicine protocols.
