The ideal DON candidate, has significant experience in management and knowledge of long term care standards and regulations. The candidate will have the ability to multi-task, to lead and motivate the team, and to interact professionally with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Specific requirements of this role may include:
* Supervising all nursing staff
* Overseeing department budget
* Reporting to higher management in the healthcare facility
* Maintaining high standards of care for all patients
* Managing patients' data and medical records as confidential records
* Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
* Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff
* Overseeing ongoing education classes
* Implementing new procedures and training nurses and nurse aides on policies
* M-F with participation in On-Call rotation
