Veterinarian Surgeon - NO WEEKENDS!
Lake Country Veterinary Care is seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinarian to focus predominantly on surgical and dental procedures. This position is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about advancing their surgical and dental expertise, providing high-quality care to our animal patients.
At Lake Country Veterinary Care, we provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to a variety of animal patients, including dogs (64%), cats (35%), and pocket pets (1%). We are always open to bringing in new services based on the doctor's interest such as exotics or house calls. We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic Veterinarian to join our current two-doctor team!

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year + pro-sal (commensurate with experience)

Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 8am - 6pm EST, closed Saturday/Sunday

A schedule that respects your time. You won't be expected to stay late, be on call, or work weekends! You can anticipate a weekly schedule featuring three dedicated surgery days. Each day typically involves an average of 3-5 soft tissue surgical procedures and 1-2 dental procedures (COHATs), tailored to individual skills and interests. Generally, surgeries are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with general practice appointments on Friday and Wednesdays off. We're happy to offer flexibility as needed. Please note that surgeries are usually not performed on Fridays since the office is closed on weekends.
A 2-to-1 staff to doctor ratio. You will have the support-and respect-you need to be excellent for our patients. We've got your back. Our team consists of 2 DVMs, 4 licensed technicians, 2 assistants, and 3 CSRs.

Lake Country Veterinary Care is a multi-doctor small animal general practice located in the beautiful Fingerlakes of Central New York. Responsibilities
Surgical Procedures: Perform a variety of soft tissue surgeries and other surgical interventions as needed.
Dental Care: Conduct COHATS (Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatments) consisting of dental cleanings, extractions, and other dental surgeries.
Patient Care: Evaluate and manage pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical and dental patients, ensuring optimal recovery.
Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the highest standards of care and efficiency. In addition, meet with the leadership team to offer suggestions that will enhance and grow the services offered.
Client Communication: Educate pet owners about surgical and dental procedures, pre-and post-operative care, and the importance of regular dental health checks.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate medical records, including detailed surgical and dental notes.
Qualifications
DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school.
New York State veterinary license in good standing.
Strong interest and experience in surgical and dental procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
