Job Overview:
The Barren River District Health Department serves the residents and visitors of Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. BRDHD staff are committed to providing essential public health services in the community. The Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a Partial- Year (1,647 hours) Dental Hygienist Supervisor to serve patients in all 8 counties using mobile dental equipment and providing treatment under a dentist's order.
Responsibilities:
* Supervision of all Dental Services employees
* Managing all administrative aspects of clinical dental services within the service communities
* Service planning and oversight of implementation, negotiating and managing provider contracts
* Managing program budgets (including grants management)
* Public relations and marketing
* Coordinating services with other BRDHD teams and community service providers
* Collaborating with local dental/medical care providers
* Conducting major equipment purchases using a bidding process
* Documenting billing information
* Documenting dental information in patient charts and relevant information in health department billing and filing system
* Performing dental procedures within the scope of licensure using appropriate dental practices in a mobile clinical setting in the community under a Work Order established for patients by the dentist
* Assisting dentist during dental examinations
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of employment.
* A Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
* Must have at least two years of experience with a minimum of 3000 hours in the practice of dental hygiene in accordance with KRS 313.040
