*Job Overview*
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Therapist to join our team. The Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality counseling services with a focus on intake and diagnostic evaluation, individual therapy, and psychotherapy group services. The role involves guiding individuals through their mental health journeys by integrating evidence-based therapeutic practices with Christian principles. The Therapist will be responsible for providing clinical services to a wide range of individuals as assigned.
*Responsibilities*
* Contributes to the mission, vision, and program philosophies by way of work product and professional behavior with both internal and external consumers
* Adheres to the requirements and regulations as set forth by the New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board based on clinical licensure
* Adheres to all current federal & state laws, as well as the Policies and Procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential healthcare information and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA)
* Reports immediately any suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect to the Clinical Services Supervisor (CSS) and to Child Protective Services
* Establishes relationships and communicates with clients, case workers/probation officers, family members, and staff
* Maintains professional licensure as a mental health provider in good standing based on licensing requirements
* Maintains all training requirements for licensure and for the organization
* Attends staff/agency meetings as required
* Performs individual and group therapy by utilizing EBP with competent clincial skills.
* Completes other duties as directed by the Administrator/CSS
*Skill Sets*
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding.
- Experience with behavioral management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Therapy.
- Experience with child and family counseling.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely medical records and provide thorough medical documentation.
- Excellent patient care and support skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices in substance abuse counseling.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing education and professional development in the field of substance abuse counseling.
*Education and Experience*
At minimum a Master's degree in a behavioral science or related field and a professional mental health license (i.e. LMHC, LPCC, PCMHC, LMFT, LCSW) valid in the state of New Mexico *Experience with trauma informed care and family/group therapy preferred * A minimum of one year of experience working with children, families, and other individuals with behavioral health issues. 397 Supervisor: Administrator/Clinical Services Supervisor Supervises: N/A Work Environment: Office/foster home environment; occasional travel to other office location
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.01 - $26.59 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
