The Muhlenberg ASC is looking for a strong Director of Nursing to assist us in building an efficient and safe multi-specialty surgery center. This center will focus highly on neuro-spine, ortho spine, orthopedics, vascular, podiatry, and pain management. Experience in these specialties is highly preferred. Knowledge of NJ Department of Health and Joint Commission standards (Or similar accrediting bodies) is required. Previous OR experience preferred.

*Position Overview:*

This position requires a licensed Registered Nurse with prior leadership experience in the ambulatory care setting. The ideal candidate should possess the skills to bring a newly operating surgery center into full compliance with accrediting agencies with operational excellence. The Nursing Director will lead the staff in clinical education initiatives, assist in the continued development of the business, and act as the central representative for all aspects of quality improvement and risk management.

The Director of Nursing reports to the Administrator, and ultimately the Medical Director to ensure that safe and efficient patient care is provided to all patients and staff while adhering to Muhlenberg ASC's policies, procedures, and overall mission.

The DON will direct and supervise all staff in clinical areas, by standard of care guidelines and governmental and other regulatory standards., and actively works at maintaining a good rapport and professional working relationship with patients, staff, management and outside facilities.

*Position Qualifications:*

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an RN, BSN preferred

- Prior ASC experience required

- Circulating Nurse experience and CNOR preferred

- Minimum of 2 years in a nursing supervisory role

- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications

- Strong knowledge and experience in the sterile operating room environment and procedures

- Possess active and valid nursing license in the state of New Jersey

- Knowledge of DOH, CMS and Joint Commission accreditation and licensing requirements

- Experienced with Microsoft Office products, specifically possessing abilities to process detailed spreadsheets, create PowerPoint presentations, and produce professional word processing documents

-Experienced in SIS EMR preferred

*Essential Job Functions*

- Directs and supervises nursing and clinical staff in accordance with Muhlenberg ASC's policies and procedures, and governmental and other regulatory standards.

- Facilitates development of department mission, goals, policies, procedures, budget, and work standards.

- Participates in all departmental meetings for compliance, QA/QI, fire and evacuation drills, and all other committees developed.

- Compiles and analyzes data, prepares and presents statistical information to Administrator

- Oversees clinical staffing needs, being a member of the surgical staff

- Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures

*Requirements*

- Advanced level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail yielding effective conveyance of information

- Abides by confidentiality requirements and effectively protects Salem ASC and all company information against unauthorized disclosure, eavesdropping and legal exposure.

- Exceptional organization skills, ability to multitask and prioritize work activity based on need, attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through skills.

- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
