At UW-Madison Department of Family Medicine and
Community Health, we have a variety of opportunities for Family Medicine
physicians to join our department as faculty. We have four residency clinics
dedicated to residency teaching and patient care, as well as thirteen community
clinics where we provide patient care and teaching in the context of patient
care. Our faculty are provided a variety of opportunities that may include
patient care, teaching, research and scholarly work. Our clinics offer a
variety of practice options, with urban underserved to rural populations,
outpatient only, non-surgical obstetrics, urgent care, as well as some
inpatient options. Our clinic locations are primarily located in Dane county,
with a few locations just outside of Dane county.
The UW-Madison DFMCH advances
health and well-being by caring, teaching, discovering, leading, and
connecting. We provide remarkable patient care; offer outstanding educational
programs for medical students, residents and fellows and conduct innovative
research. We are one of the oldest family medicine departments in the nation,
with origins dating back to 1970, when family medicine was first designated as
a medical specialty.
We believe in the importance of
diversity and inclusion and are intentionally making efforts to learn, grow and
collaborate with community and academic partners to improve the health of all
people. Diversity is integral to the mission and vision of the UW DFMCH. We
partner with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW Health
to promote diversity, inclusion and health equity in our own institution. We
also collaborate with academic peers nationwide on strategies and models for
addressing diversity issues at other institutions.
