Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SVMHI) is located in beautiful Danville, Virginia. SMVHI offers a variety of treatment programming that is recovery-focused, evidence-based, and person-centered.  Our goal is providing treatment programming that supports the individual to successfully return to the community. Our groups are led by members of our Clinical Departments, to include the Rehab, Social Work and Psychology Departments.  

Danville is on the southern border of Virginia.  The city is rich in history and has undergone recent revitalization of its Historic Downtown and Tobacco Warehouse districts.  Danville is in close proximity to many lakes (including Smith Mountain Lake and Hyco Lake) and is located less than an hour drive to Lynchburg, VA and Greensboro, NC.  Danville is also home to the Danville Otterbots baseball club.
