Sentara RMH Medical Center is a 238-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. For over 100 years SRMH has been delivering advanced medical care to its seven-county service area with a population close to 225,000.
Annual services provided at SRMH include over 16,000 inpatients, 1,700 babies delivered, 18,000 surgical procedures, 74,000 cancer treatments and more than 70,000 emergency department visits. In 2010, SRMH opened its new, state-of-the-art hospital, located on a 254-acre site overlooking the Massanutten mountain range. This new LEED-Gold certified facility brings the latest in health and wellness to the community.
Sentara RMH Medical Center continues to grow in its rankings among the nation’s "Best Hospitals" with U.S. News & World Report, moving from 15th to 9th in the State.
Sentara, a not-for-profit health system, operates more than 100 sites of care serving residents across Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The system is comprised of 12 acute care hospitals, advanced imaging centers, nursing and assisted-living centers, outpatient campuses, two home health and hospice agencies, a 3,680-provider medical staff, and three medical groups with 618 providers.
Sentara also offers medical transport ambulances and Nightingale, the first air ambulance serving Hampton Roads. Optima Health, an award winning Sentara owned health plan, serves 433,000 members in Virginia.
