Accredited by the Joint Commission, Memorial Healthcare is a financially stable 165-bed non-profit hospital with over 1,600 employees. Since 1921, our mission to provide high quality, compassionate healthcare in our region has been our foundation. As always, we continue to care for individuals, families, and communities through our commitment to service excellence, teamwork and innovation.

Additionally, Memorial Healthcare has been recognized nationally and on a state level by industry leaders for excellence in meeting or exceeding patient care standards as well as for its use of technology to address patient care, patient safety and service quality.

Each year we care for over 30,000 emergency patients, provide over 200,000 outpatient service visits and deliver hospital-based medical services to over 3,500 inpatients. Memorial Healthcare physicians and staff work together with members in the community to create new and expanded services.

About Our Community

Shiawassee County is strategically located along I-69 and is a short drive from I-75.  It is about halfway between Lansing, Michigan (home to Michigan State University) and Flint, Michigan (home to University of Michigan-Flint and Kettering University).  According to the 2000 census, the total population of Shiawassee County is nearly 80,000 with a median age of 36.4.

Owosso and the surrounding area is home to vibrant downtown districts with shopping, dining and entertainment establishments and expanding arts and cultural offerings. Shiawassee County features outstanding schools (both private and public), charming historic buildings throughout its business and residential districts, and an extensive park system. Successful economic development initiatives are attracting new businesses and creating jobs and international manufacturing and service industries are thriving.
